Last year I produced a song for the 90's dance superstar Rozalla (Everybody's Free). The first time I heard the vocals I knew this song will be a disco bomb. Since I am a great fan of 70's disco, Nile Rodgers, Chic and Diana Ross and I love the recent productions and remixes from Dimitri From Paris or Joey Negro I decided to make it a modern disco track. The Rozalla's song reached the dance charts in USA and UK and was played in the radios around the world.
Since the sudden growth of this style popularity, amazing success of Ibiza's Glitterbox parties and growing nostalgia toward the true underground 70's disco I decided to make a step by step 50min tutorial how to make this style.
Beside standard Cubase Pro instruments and effects I also used some third party plugins such as Native Instruments Kontakt or UAD plugins. They are not a must to achieve the desired results and you can use Cubase own tools as well.
Last but not least - I did this video quite a long time ago when I was new to Youtubing. That is why the quality of my voice talking over the song is not that good. If you will follow my YT channel you will see that I got better in this area.
